Gender Wars Target High School Cheerleaders
Via the front page of the NYTs last Sunday, we are informed that the federal government is demanding that cheerleaders obey federal instructions:
WHITNEY POINT, N.Y. — Thirty girls signed up for the cheerleading squad this winter at Whitney Point High School in upstate New York. But upon learning they would be waving their pompoms for the girls’ basketball team as well as the boys’, more than half of the aspiring cheerleaders dropped out.
… But the ruling has left many people here and across the New York region booing, as dozens of schools have chosen to stop sending cheerleaders to away games, as part of an effort to squeeze all the home girls’ games into the cheerleading schedule.
Boys’ basketball boosters say something is missing in the stands at away games, cheerleaders resent not being able to meet their rivals on the road, and even female basketball players being hurrahed are unhappy.
… Last February, a statewide group of physical education teachers in California called for cheerleaders to attend girls’ and boys’ games “in the same number, and with equal enthusiasm” as part of its five-year goals.
At some point in our history girls started organizing into groups and cheering at the boy’s sporting events. Since 95% of girls, and likely a much higher percentage among girl cheerleaders, are sexually attracted to boys - girls mostly favor cheering for boys.
The element that is missing from this heavy-handed federal intervention into the affairs of local schools is any acknowledgement that girls are cheering for boys as part of the male-female dynamic that drives our society for creating families, raising future generations, and basically maintaining civilization. I guess there is no place for such minor stuff in the world of gender politics.
Why can’t the girls themselves pick the games at which they will cheer? Why do they have to be ordered about? This seems like something more suited to the old Soviet Union than the USA.
So snap to it girls, your politically incorrect behavior has been noted. You are to begin cheering at the same number of girls events as boys events - and you had better show equal enthusiasm in those cheers!

Cheerleaders likely have rarely got to choose their events to cheer and likely never will. That said. I have no problem with girls cheering for girls. as long as it is not at the expense of the squad not cheering at a more high profile boys event. Certainly it is absurd to have any outside party or force, particularly a government dictate where any cheering is done.
I also think that while most men would have no problem with girls cheering for girls, they likely would not be thrilled with men cheering for them or their favorite NFL team. Of course, that probably has something to do with the fact that while they dream of watching two girls/women togather, the thought of two men doing the same is disgusting.

Dan, it would be very interesting to see this “statewide group of physicial educrats (oops, I mean teachers)” in (of course) California and their sexual composition. I imagine they are dominated by lesbians who (of course) watch the girls basketball games and like to see more female flesh on the sidelines. I cannot IMAGINE some of the ol’ football coach P.E. teachers I had (who just blew a whistle and told us to play dodgeball while they went in the office and worked on their game plans) actually giving a damn about this at all.
By the way Dan………………if you’d like to read about faculty run amok, there is a definitive account of the Duke Rape Hoax, blow by blow——-including details like Crystal Gayle Magnum only performed for two minutes before being too drunken and sickly to continue and the fact that the boys ordered a white and an hispanic girl, only to recieve a black and a half-black/half-asian girl (you know, those pesky details that the MSM knew by day two but would not report) at Vdare.com from an author named Nicholas Strix. In the article you get to read about professors who failed students simply because they were on the lacrosse team and couldn’t be pressured to “come forward” and “admit” what went on that night. Reading about these professors almost makes me wish that we DID have video cameras in all classrooms so students COULD rat out teachers for despicable behavior. After they get tenure, and cannot be fired, they get to press their ideological convictions on our youth almost without restraint.
Then of course if youre a beautiful blonde hottie like Debra LaFavre or Pameal Rodgers you can screw students and pretty much get away with it.=========By the way, we have yet another young blonde teacher in “hot” (we will see) water here in Tennessee for “inappropriate” contact with a ninth grader. Forget her name, but her picture was cute in the paper a few months back.
