Al Sharpton, Race Hustler
With Imus having gone on Al Sharpton’s show to apologize for his rude remarks about the Rutgers women’s basketball team, it is a good time to be reminded who Sharpton is (via Michelle Malkin who has more links on Sharpton):
If Sharpton were a white skinhead, he would be a political leper, spurned everywhere but the fringe. But far from being spurned, he is shown much deference. Democrats embrace him. Politicians court him. And journalists report on his comings and goings while politely sidestepping his career as a hatemongering racial hustler.
I recall hearing Sharpton speak at the Democratic National Convention during the 2004 election. That is like the Republicans letting David Duke speak at their convention.
