Netroots Crowd Less Influential Than Often Assumed

Barack Obama ignored them and still won in Iowa.

People within the blogosphere, both those who run sites and those who read them, often assume blogs are more influential than they are. It is a pretty small slice of America that reads blogs. For that matter, it is a small slice of America that even follows politics very much or thinks much about what policies are best.

So if most Americans are politically indifferent, and they don’t read blogs, there are many other forces much more influential on their voting (TV, newspapers, gut feelings, a politician’s personality, family and friends opinions …).
