Hillary, Obama, Romney, McCain - How Should Win and Who Will Win?
Regarding the Democratic candidates for president, who is going to win? And the answer is: Hillary Clinton. Why? Because the vast majority of Hispanics will not vote for Obama, and because most white older Democrats will not vote for him. Why is this? One can only speculate since you can’t climb into the heads of these Democrats. If for many it is for racial reasons, they surely won’t admit this in the exit polls. But whatever the reasons, Obama will not be able to get enough Hispanics and older Democrats to vote for him. So Hillary wins the nomination.
On the Republican side, the race is too close to call. At this point, Romney has my vote - it is his to lose. So therefore Romney should win the Republican nomination, and of course, he should go on to win the presidency. That is what is in the best interests of the USA. But, of course, should win and will win are two different things.
Important announcement: The official NoSpeedBumps endorsement now goes to Mitt Romney. Don’t let us down Mitt, we are watching and listening.
If Hillary and Romney go head to head, watch for Romney’s Mormon religion to become a big noisy deal. Just like Bill and Hillary stirred up the race issue regarding Obama, they will surely play the same cards again with Romney’s religion. And they sure are sneaky about it. That Bill Clinton, he has been sneaky before, as I recall.

If all paleos start referring to “JUAN McCain” as the open-borders candidate, I think other paleos out there will wake up to who he is.
Other suggestions………Juan 5 airplanes McCain (he lost five planes in Nam’, showing he couldn’t fly for spit)
……………………………..Juan 894th McCain (he came in 894 out of 899 in his class in the military)
………………………………Juan “no tax cuts” McCain (he voted against lowering your taxes)
……………………………….Juan Kennedy McCain.(Ted Kennedy is his best friend).
Maybe they can at least know what they are voting for then.

miles,
I have a neighbor and friend named Juan who is Mexican-American. I really don’t agree with the way you used the name Juan in your comment because it can be read as a putdown of Mexican-Americans in general. Please refrain from using that in future comments here.
I am strongly opposed to continuing to allow illegal immigration over the southern border. However, there are many, many fine Mexican-Americans living here. I think that it is important to think of the immigration problem at two levels. At one level we think of Mexican Americans, and even illegal immigrants, as human beings to form opinions about as individuals, when you get to know them, just like any other people.
At the other level we can think about how uncontrolled immigration, of so many millions of Hispanics who are low-income and high school drop outs, will be harmful to the US in the long term. The millions of illegal immigrants coming here are not the Mexican middle class and upper class, they are the poor. So that is legitimate grounds for concern when so many low-income, low-education people are moving here (regardless of the country of origin).
Cities like LA now have major problems because so many low-income, low-education Hispanic immigrants have moved there. And this will become more widespread in other cities over time. Studies show that 2nd and 3rd generation Hispanics, of low-income, low-education parents, on the average are not doing well. (But of course there are plenty of exceptions.)
But again, we should distinguish between talking about the broad policy of allowing uncontrolled Hispanic immigration and individual Hispanics living in the US.
Also, if those of us strongly opposed to uncontrolled illegal immigration are seen as putting down Hispanics as a group, that will only hurt building a consensus around better immigration policies.

The media will be all to happy to harp on thos gold plates and Joseph Smith if Romney wins, but alas I see that us on the paleo right will have to refrain from our humorous tactics. Getting a laugh almost guarantees you that the listener will at least listen to the next two sentences.
Thats the purpose of the name change.
Keep this in mind Dan………………..JOHN McCain wanted to increase the amount of legal immigrants from one to three million. If you dont think Hillary wont have a question planted in debate asking him if he was for this and did he support the bill and why did he agree with that provision, while Hillary is grinning like a Cheshire cat, you are mistaken. The camera will pan to Hillary and she will claim that the present limit of one million immigrants per year in generous enough and we need a “virtual” fence and we need to sanction employers (which she never intends to enforce) for knowingly hiring illegals……………………………………………………………………..and voilia’, she gets to the Right of McCain on this issue.
Election will probably be over right there.
The media want McCain because Hillary will beat him, probably pretty badly when his record on immigration gets out, his academic performance (showing him to be pretty average material at best) gets out, his flip-flops in the past get out (which the New York Times will be all to happy to inform us about then). Even if he won, we would almost be guaranteed a Dem president when he was running for re-election at 76 years of age.
What I realize Dan…………………..is that we are beginning to run out of time. Ten years from now, there will be at least 10 million “new” democrats spread throughout the nation via immigration. The longer they are here, as Inductivist Ron Gunhame has painstakingly researched, the more left they vote, not less. So the higher-presitige among them will naturally lead the lower prestige among them to stay left. They will (of course) clamor for more immigration as time passes and as in California, a state that had Republican Governors all except once until 1988, will slowly turn the nation leftwards as California’s legislature now is. Dont let Schwarzenneger fool you, he is an anomaly, only elected because he was a movie star, and a social liberal, and because he had alot of money running against a guy in a scandal at the time. That state is so lost for the Republican cause, the national Repub party hardly even wastes their time there other than a little fundraising when the presidential election is going on. Why bother? We have as much chance of carrying Harlem at this point.
If it makes you feel better though………………………call him “Kennedy” McCain. He co-authroed the immigration DE-form proposal with Kennedy, his apparent best friend on capital hill.
I cannot believe that Hillary Whitewater, Ron Brown, Lani Guinier, Rose Law Firm, Yale student radical, Saul Alinsky-trained, no-make-up-in-the-seventies-NOW-activist, Zoe Baird, CATTLE FUTURES, Monica, Vince Foster, state troopers, “no woman is illegal”, “native” New Yorker, brother of Hugh Rodham, sister in law of Roger Clinton, mysteriously dead state troopers, used to not use her last name for the first couple of years after her husband was elected, health care destroying, vote-for-him-you-get-me Clinton is probably going to be our next president. And we offer Kennedy McCain as her adversary. Its like fixing a prizefight.

Since we may be stuck with Hilary or McCain for dictator, I want to get my two cents in for the real issues. Energy Independence Now! No more Oil Wars! We need to stop paying our adversaries with oil money. It is unseemly for an American President to beg a Saudi despot for cheaper oil.
