Hide Your Money and Buy Your Guns Now
With tax laws targeted at redistribution coming, the rich are surely working hard to figure out how to hide their income. And people are buying guns while they can:
PHOENIX (Reuters) - Sales of rifles, pistols and ammo are surging in parts of the United States, as many gun owners fear President-elect Barack Obama’s administration may seek to tighten ownership of certain weapons.
Actually, gun rights are the one clear place that conservatives have been winning in recent years. I think that gun control will be way down on Obama’s list of priorities. I predict his presidency will have little impact on gun laws, especially now that the Supreme Court has affirmed that the Constitution protects the right to bear arms by individual citizens.
Meanwhile, a bit surprisingly, Sarah Palin is still in the news. She is fighting back against nasty rumors coming from some former members of the McCain campaign staff. I became disillusioned with Palin as a VP candidate, but now that she is done with that, I am pulling for her again. I hope that she learns more about national politics and perhaps runs for the Senate someday (provided that her policy views remain libertarian-conservative). How about Sarah running for president someday? Not sure about that. I am still not sure that she has the right stuff for that job. Like many others, she will have to convince me.
