Re-Writing the History of the JFK Assassination
Some liberals in the US have convinced themselves that there is an emerging tendency toward right wing violence. Never mind that no such violence has occurred. The Tea Party crowd is plenty mad at Democrats, Obama, and the establishment in general - but they aren’t out committing acts of violence.
But it doesn’t really matter if there are no facts to base these claims of emerging violence on. Lefties in America, well they just know that darkness and a desire for violence is in the hearts of their political opponents. Thus Jimmy Carter can confidently announce to America that he knows that the majority of Obama’s critics are racist.
The most humorous thing to come up in all this is where many on the left are saying this is like the days when the right wing killed JFK. See recent quotes from lefties here. This is all quite funny because Lee Harvey Oswald was a communist - meaning he was as left wing as you can get. He hated right wingers. So while the left looks back to a moment of real politically motivated violence - it was violence emanating from leftist ideology. Indeed, a lesson of JFK’s assassination is the danger of what can result when left wing ideology is taken to its logical extreme. This is the exact opposite of the point that lefties are trying to make today in regards to JFK’s murder.
Of course this doesn’t matter. Many on the left want so badly to believe that JFK was killed because he went to Dallas which they say was filled with right wing Republican nuts. Some people still hate Dallas because of this. At the emotional centers of many liberals’ brains somehow Lee Harvey Oswald has been transformed from an ardent communist into a surrogate right winger.
No wonder it’s hard to have logical political debates any more in this country. It’s all about emotion now.
